Frequently asked questions

Got questions? Here are some quick answers to help you feel prepared and excited for your session.

I got my first camera for Christmas when I was 8. I photographed my first wedding in 1990 and in 1998 I took over my dad’s photography business. When I am not photographing people, I love to take photos on vacation. Some of my favorite locations have been Iceland, Italy, and Southern Utah.

Yes! Unless I have an emergency outside of my control, I will be your photographer. If something were to happen to me, I will ensure your event is covered by a competent photographer with a similar style.

Because I work strictly on referrals, I have the most amazing and trustworthy clientele. Therefore, I don’t require a deposit. Once you tell me that you would like to book my services the date is yours. The total amount is due the day of the wedding. If you would like to pay earlier or spread out the money into payments that is fine with me. Individual sitting fees are due at the time of the sitting. I accept Venmo, cash, personal checks, and for weddings I accept credit cards and bank transfers.

For most sittings you will receive your online album to your email within 2 weeks. Weddings and Newborn Photos take a little bit longer.  If you need to receive your photos back sooner, please let me know at the time of booking so I can determine whether I can meet your timeline.

The duration of your appointment can vary a little but for the most part these are the time frames I plan on…..

Although I may not be the lowest price around my reprint prices are very reasonable and you get a quality product. When you order your print through me I take the time to prep the photo and ensure the crop you requested looks the best it can. I also take them to a professional lab for printing. This means the colors are callibrated daily to ensure the colors in your portrait are printed as they were intended.

According to Federal law, images produced by a professional photographer are copyrighted the moment they are created. The United States Federal Law prohibits copying or reproducing any material without the permission from the owner of the copyright.

That being said, I do allow clients to download their files from the proofing site and if you need a copyright release, I will send it to you.

Utah is such a beautiful state that the possibilities are endless.  If you need suggestions check out my location guide on the portfolio page. love to shoot in the outdoors, but can also suggest indoor locations if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Locations outside of the Salt Lake Valley could incur a travel charge and clients are required to pay all entrance and parking fees.

All of these items are welcome. When possible, let me know ahead of time if you plan on bringing more than a couple of clothing changes or if you are bringing a pet. Not every location has adequate changing places or allows pets; special arrangements might need to be made. Props on the other hand are welcome and encouraged. Let’s show your personality during your photoshoot!

My style is natural skin tones and true to life colors. I edit every photo for tones and lighting. On the day of your session/event, if you have a concern please let me know so we can discuss how to mitigate it.  After you receive your photos, and have determined your favorites, let me know if you would like more in depth retouching and we can determine the cost and time frame.

Please, Please, Please try to be on time to your appointment. My days are very busy and usually depend on my appointments running on schedule. If you are going to be late please call me prior to the appointment and I will do the same. I will try my hardest to keep the appointment but sometimes we may have to reschedule.

If you are running late on your wedding day, don’t worry. I am yours for the times we discussed, and we will find time to do all the pictures we need. But things run much smoother if you plan to be on time.
